Recently, someone told me he had fallen in love with a girl who was moving to Somerville, Boston. And he originally had plans to go to grad school for bioengineering, maybe even PhD. He decided to give the relationship his all, which is admirable of course, but as he graduated from college he gave up his own career. He then told me, “I wish I could have objectively asked myself if I could have held onto both?” I think sacrifices that we make don’t go to waste. If our desire is still alive, we’re bound to reach our goal eventually.
